Our Story

I'm David Castle, and I've been chasing this idea since I was 8 years old, when I hung a rope swing from the gazebo in my backyard and attached a skateboard deck to it. It was one of the most fun things we did as kids.

Years later, I found myself wondering why no one had ever turned that into a real thing. Then it hit me — what if you could actually do flip tricks on it?

That question sent me down a rabbit hole of trial and error. Lucky for me, I had access to a machine shop and some expert machinists, and together we figured out how to build a swivel system that could hold up to real skateboard tricks — kickflips, 360s, shuv-its, and beyond — while swinging through the air.

Skate Swing debuted at X Games, where the reaction told us we were onto something real. We're now partnering with the Freestyle Trampoline Association — the largest, most prestigious trampoline organization in the world — to bring Skate Swing to trampoline parks, action sports facilities, and backyards everywhere.
